IASR is pleased to announce several travel awards to attend this year’s meeting in Porto, Portugal! These grants have been generously sponsored by Vivent Health and the American Institute for Bisexuality. In addition, le Shaw has sponsored exciting new micro grants to support junior researchers. Read below for details on each.

Vivent Health is sponsoring 10 travel grants to support researchers attending our meeting in Porto, Portugal from July 13-16, 2026! These grants will support researchers whose work aims to either 1) identify risk and protective factors (e.g., substance use, condomless sex, sexual communication, knowledge of safe sex practice) for HIV, 2) prevent or reduce the risk of HIV transmission, or 3) improve the lives of those who have HIV. Each $500 award will help offset costs such as registration, accommodations, airfare, or other travel expenses.

Applicants may fill out the application online by the April 15, 2026 deadline. This year’s travel grants are open to those who have submitted an oral or poster abstract for presentation at the meeting. You will be asked to provide a brief (i.e., maximum of 200 words) statement about how the research that you hope to present at IASR relates to HIV prevention or intervention, as outlined above.

Applications are welcome from people at any career stage and from any country. Please note that these travel grants are meant to assist people who are receiving less than 50% of the cost to travel to IASR from other funding sources. All travel grant funding will be provided via reimbursement of covered expenses via PayPal after the conference takes place.

The American Institute of Bisexuality (AIB) has generally sponsored another 6 travel grants to support travel to this year’s IASR conference for researchers whose work aims to improve the lives of people who identify as bisexual+. Each $500 award will help offset costs such as registration, accommodations, airfare, or other travel expenses for the 2026 Annual Meeting in Porto, Portugal from July 13-16.

In addition to our Student Research Development Awards (SRDA), IASR is pleased to announce two Micro Research Grants sponsored by le Shaw, the International Sexual Health And Wellness Research Institute. These grants will provide student or early career IASR members with $1,000 to conduct a study focused on sexual wellness, technology, or broader sex-positive culture and science.

Students must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program and identify a mentor who will support their work. Early career researchers must be less than 5 years out from their terminal degree and do not need a mentor to apply. Applicants for the le Shaw Micro Research Grants cannot also apply for the IASR SRDA.

Applications are accepted online through May 1, 2026. The submission process is similar to the SRDA’s application guidelines, except that early career researchers do not need a mentor recommendation. Please note that your proposal should specifically address how your research fits with le Shaw’s focus areas in sexual wellness, technology, or broader sex-positive culture and science. Winners will be encouraged to present their work at the 2027 meeting.
