Join us for IASR Connect: A Webinar Series

IASR is planning to hold two webinars each year — one in the spring and one in the fall — to engage with the latest sexual science year-round!

Full, associate, and student members are invited to attend. Researchers will present short 15-minute talks on new data, methodologies, theory, or professional development topics. Webinars will typically consist of 2-3 speakers (including one junior and one senior researcher) with time for an open discussion afterward.

November 18, 2022: Sex Research in a Lab

Our most recent webinar took place on November 18! Attendees heard talks about the latest applications of physiological, psychopharmacological and VR tools and methods in a lab environment, including…

  • Dr. Joana Carvalho: Eyetracking in sex research

  • Dr. Johannes Fuß: An example for pharmacological research in the sex lab

  • Natalie Brown: Virtual reality in sex research

This webinar was moderated by IASR president, Dr. Meredith Chivers, and student representative, Mónika Koós.

Details about our next webinar planned for sometime in spring of 2023 will be posted as they become available.

Future Webinars

If you would like to give a talk or nominate a researcher you would like to hear speak, please submit a proposal! The IASR Student and Communication Representatives will coordinate the schedule based on proposals received, speaker availability, and topics.

Goals of the Series

Particularly in the context of a worldwide pandemic, IASR has decided to launch this webinar series to advance three primary goals. Our webinars will aim to…

  1. Favor an ongoing connection between IASR members throughout the year

  2. Leverage the tools at our disposal to enable promotion and access to sex research around the globe, beyond one unique annual meeting

  3. Grow our membership through regular exchanges that favor interest in IASR
