Dear Members of the Academy,
It's time to start thinking about what new and exciting sexual science you want to hear about at next year's meeting! We are pleased to announce that our 2018 meeting will be hosted by Dr. Antonio Guillamon in Madrid, Spain from July 17-20. The Scientific Program Committee (SPC) will meet in Charleston to set the agenda.
If you are interested in submitting, follow the link below to provide the following information:
For plenary speaker proposals: Please consider nominating both Academy and non-Academy members for the Richard Green Founding President Annual Presentation Award. Plenary talks are a great opportunity for us to hear from non-members by taking advantage of the money generously donated by Richard Green.
Note on funding: IASR is a non-profit organization that may be able to partially offset non-member speakers' conference attendance. However, we cannot guarantee the amount of assistance we offer until we know how many non-member speakers are coming, where they are coming from, etc. If you are reaching out to a potential speaker, do not offer any specific funding.
Note on selection of proposals: The SPC takes a number of factors into consideration when evaluating proposals, including the novelty of the proposal (e.g. Have we heard this speaker present in the past few years? Have we heard this topic in the past few years?) and the cost of travel for non-member speakers.
The SPC is tasked with creating a diverse scientific program, but it relies heavily on proposals from the membership. If there's something you really want to hear about at our next meeting, submit a proposal!
